- What is OutOfFrame?
- A neighbor map of cameras you can see — Flock plate readers, city CCTV, and doorbells — plus a quiet ping when you get close. Awareness and accountability, not sabotage. The live map isn’t open yet.
- Is the map live?
- Not yet. The landing, city seed pages, FAQ, and public stats are live. The interactive map, proximity alerts, quieter routes, and report ingest are coming online. Device counts are zero until then — do not invent a city inventory.
- What is Flock?
- Flock Safety is a vendor of automated license plate reader (ALPR) camera networks used by cities, police departments, and private operators. OutOfFrame maps community-reported and publicly known devices neutrally.
- What is Axon in this context?
- Axon makes body cameras and related public-safety hardware. OutOfFrame may list fixed Axon or police CCTV devices when they are publicly visible or verified through community or source confirmation.
- Does OutOfFrame include residential cameras?
- Yes. Residential and private cameras can be listed. By default they use block-level precision so exact doorbell coordinates are not exposed unless a reporter opts into higher precision under policy.
- How precise are residential cameras?
- Block-level by default. Exact coordinates only with reporter opt-in and policy checks, to reduce doxxing risk for private homes.
- What does community-confirmed mean?
- Neighbors corroborated a report. Ladder: unverified → community-confirmed → source/FOIA-confirmed. Stale pins decay.
- Will you track my location?
- Alerts need location with consent. We prefer on-device evaluation and minimize raw GPS retention. We never sell that location, and we never share it with advertisers or data brokers. See Privacy.
- Do you sell or share my data?
- No. We never sell your personal data. We never share it with advertisers or data brokers. If the law forces a disclosure, we share only what we must. See Privacy and Terms.
- Can I get help disabling a camera?
- No. OutOfFrame does not provide instructions to disable, vandalize, jam, or otherwise interfere with cameras.
- Can you tell me if my license plate was searched or scanned?
- We do not query Flock or any camera network. Public catalogs such as Have I Been Flocked publish delayed, incomplete audit logs of manual searches — someone typed a plate — not camera captures. A catalog hit is not proof a camera saw you. We may deep-link those catalogs or later notify you about new public hits on a plate you prove you own. We do not host their databases.
- Can you tell me if I am on a Flock or police alert list?
- No. OutOfFrame cannot see live hot lists, BOLOs, warrants, or “alerts set on you.” Our alerts are proximity pings when you approach a mapped camera — not a notice that someone is looking for you.
- Can you tell me if Palantir or another fusion system is tracking me?
- No. Platforms like Palantir Gotham have no public person lookup. We can surface public records that an agency bought or uses that software. We cannot say whether you, your name, or your plate are in their graph.
- Do you post camera news?
- Yes — short sourced notes about plate readers, city cameras, neighbor maps, and vendor or city contracts. Notes only post when they pass the gates, and each one keeps its outlet link. The list can be empty. We do not invent a camera count.
